Old Forester Bourbon is adored for its spicy, cherry, pralines and chocolate flavor notes. The nose is very pleasant with a happy dose of cherry and a touch of vanilla. I'd recommend trying it at a bar before making the investment, but if it's in your wheelhouse, you'll be back for more.I love how it tastes and unlike most it just slams you with smoothness. Spicy caramel/vanilla/cinnamon profile. That 115 proof will hit you in the nose. Before me, a generous selection of beautiful amber elixir ranging from scotch to bourbon to American Whiskey. When smelling correctly, I was hit by the aroma of rich caramel, dark chocolate, toasted oak, cinnamon, cloves, and a trace of stone fruits. Extremely good & smooth, but maybe unremarkable flavour profile. One of the most balanced whiskys I've tried. Would love to find that candied orange finish that is described.

The finish is long and memorable, a great addition to your must-have bourbon lineup!

Creme brûlée plus a hot oak barrel is what I say. Nose will pick up a slight smoke with vanilla and cherries. This stuff will WARM YOU UP. It has a decent finish.

I took my first sniff with my nose in the glass and my mouth closed, an amateur move that rewarded me with a punch of ethanol right in the schnoz.

Don’t know of any better in the $60 range. A great everyday bourbon Very good, lots of spice and the old forestor famous Pepper. Rich and complex. It wasn’t pretentious or incredibly rare, but tales of quick consumption and the drinkability seemed to be everywhere. At this point the whiskey bug bit me full on.

Punches above its weight at the price point. Incredibly strong and packs a punch. Flavor- 8/10 It was the first distillery to sell its whiskey in sealed glass bottles to ensure quality. Tried in a whiskey glass and glencairn, I liked it in my glencairn better (might be different story on the rocks, haven't tried yet). It also has notes of burnt sugar, pepper, and a bit of maraschino cherry on the finish. It is officially the longest running bourbon on the market today. That being said was pleasantly surprised, the bold quickly faded to smooth for a nice chocolaty, caramel, and Graham cracker finish. Would love to find that candied orange finish that is described. I told myself I was ok with it.

Just beat out Noah's Creek for my top spot. I wish I could give you more info, but I am not too confident in pulling flavors and aromas out, yet. Just not for me.Very tasty. What a great tasting bourbon!

Fun profile; spicy up front and a lingering butter-smooth finish. Love it!Incredibly smooth and full body. Very hot without diluting it some. One of my faves so far.Very strong. Flavor is not overtaken by the alcohol. It reminds you that it’s there in a way that high proof bourbons do, dries the mouth a bit and has a pleasant buzz that rolls along your body. Great bourbon. 115pf and sipping neat, definitely worth $60. Add ice or water, takes that high proof edge off. I was standing in an aisle, one of the better aisles in South Jersey, looking at each bottle of whiskey they had on the shelf. The palate has heat to be sure, but it is rich and smooth on the tongue. No overbearing flavors, no bite. At the price point, it leaves me satisfied, but not giddy or flabbergasted. Overpriced, but it tastes as smooth and delicious as you'll find easily on the shelf.Sweet, smooth flavor without being too much. Interestingly, it was the first Bourbon to be available exclusively in sealed glass bottles. Old Forester 1920 celebrates the Distillery history since 1920 was the year Prohibition started. An oaky aroma is detected after a few whif rich, complex, no dominating note. I purchased my bottle for $50 which made it an absolute steal.Nose: leather, apple, sweetness, light fire scent — Joe Rogan . Has nice complexity and a long finish. Powerful, but tasty. Further proof (no pun intended, but at 115 proof you’d never know it) you don’t need to spend $500+ for a great bourbon experience. Good flavor balance between fruit, caramel/brown sugar, and oak. It's odd that some days it tastes amazing and other days it just tastes decent; I can't figure out what I've eaten that day that changes the flavor so much, but it's a unique pour.
